Prasanna Kasthuri - Vocalist

Prasanna Kasthuri learnt Carnatic Vocal music from Shakuntala, a devoted music teacher in Yeshawanthapura from 1977-80. He later continued under Guru Mattur Shankara murthy, where he completed his state exams under him. Due to distances, he moved to another legendary vocalist – Vidwan Chintalapalli Krishnamurthy to understand the depths of alaapanams and swaras. He also undertook lessons with Guru Ambi Bhagavathar – a student of doyen of music Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar.

Prasanna took lessons from Dr. Nagamani Srinath and Ustad Imrat Khan saab for short durations.

He had given several concerts with all these teaches in many Sabhas in Bengaluru. He used most of his knowledge in creating more dance works of his own. He has composed music to more than 15 dance dramas and created more than 35 compositions such as swarajatis, Varnam, padams, Keertanam and tillanams

Prasanna Kasthuri - Percussionist

Prasanna Kasthuri learned Mrudangam under Guru B R Seshadri from 1985 - 90. His interest in Mrudangam was rekindled after visits of Mrudangists such as Balu and Ramesh Ramalingappa to his dance projects. Prasanna has been following the tradition of the Umayalapuram Sivaraman technique since 2015. He is an ardent follower of his melodic Mrudangam playing. 

Prasanna also plays electronic Handsonic, which he is a self taught. Through this, he accompanies electronic Ghatam (Pot) instruments to Arangetrams and Music concerts.
